Dentures
Missing teeth in the mouth can lead to many problems, including difficulty in speech, change in bite, difficulty chewing, shifting teeth, bone structure shrinkage, and vulnerability to gum diseases. Moreover, they also affect the shape of the face, making the person less confident in their smile. Hence, replacing missing teeth is crucial. Dentures come across as the best solution for missing teeth. They are the appliances custom-made for each individual to replace their missing teeth and restore the form and function of the oral cavity. We make dentures that are comfortable and look as natural as possible.
What are Dentures?
Dentures are removable replacements for one or more missing teeth and the surrounding tissue. They can be complete or partial. As the name says, we give you a complete denture when all your teeth are missing, while a partial denture is given when some teeth remain in your mouth.
*Complete Dentures
We make a complete denture for you after all your teeth have been removed and your gum tissue has begun to heal. We call it a conventional denture. On the other hand, we make immediate dentures in advance and place them immediately into your mouth after removing your teeth. Hence, you don’t have to live without your teeth during your healing period.
*Partial Dentures
We make a partial denture or bridge for you if some of your natural teeth are intact in your oral cavity. The bridge comprises replacement teeth attached to a plastic base of pink or gum color. In some cases, we use a metal framework to hold the denture in place in your mouth.
A fixed partial denture involves the teeth on either side of the missing teeth. We place crowns on them to keep the replacement teeth in place. A precision partial denture, on the other hand, is removable. It comprises internal attachments that attach to the nearby crowns.
The Process of Making Dentures
*We make several impressions of your jaw and take jaw relation (measurement of how one jaw relates to another).
*We create models, plastic patterns, or wax forms that are temporary replicas of your denture and then place them in your mouth several times to determine the shape, color, and fit of your oral cavity.
*We make the changes if required before casting the final denture. We will fabricate the final denture and place it in your mouth. We will make necessary adjustments until it fits perfectly.
